ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Robert Rodriguez is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), a national non-profit organization dedicated to incubating and nurturing Latinos throughout their career continuum and working to develop increasing numbers of successful Latino professionals and leaders. Because of his role at HACE, Dr. Rodriguez works with many of the country's premier employers helping them recruit and retain Latino talent as part of their overall diversity strategy. Over HACE's 25 year history, this premier non-profit organization has expanded the horizons of tens of thousands of Latinos, who in turn have enriched the companies and organizations that employ them. Robert is also a member of PRIMER, a network of Latino business and professional leaders. Dr. Robert Rodriguez also serves as the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School of Management at Kaplan University. His responsibilities curriculum design, course development, and course delivery for Kaplan’s Newsweek MBA programs. Prior to Kaplan, he taught at the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University in Chicago.
Prior to academia, he held human resource leadership roles at several Fortune 500 firms including 3M Company, BP Amoco and RR Donnelley & Sons. Along with teaching at Kaplan, Dr. Rodriguez is a highly sought after consultant helping organizations with their diversity talent management initiatives. Due to his experience and education, he is a frequent contributor for HR Magazine where he writes articles that focus on talent management issues. He has also published numerous articles on human resource topics in such publications as The Chicago Tribune, Chief Learning Officer Magazine, The OD Practitioner Journal, Workforce Performance Solutions, and Talent Management Magazine. Robert has also been featured in such publications as Workforce Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, FastCompany Magazine and Crains Chicago Business. Dr. Rodriguez is an advisory board member for the Diversity Council for The Conference Board and he is frequently called upon to speak by associations such as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), LearnShare, DiversityPower and the Chief Learning Officer Symposium.
Because of his accomplishments, Dr. Rodriguez has won numerous awards including a Hispanic Heroes Award based on his contributions to the Latino community and a Rising Latino Stars Award which recognizes Latino leaders under the age of 40. He received his doctorate in Organization Development at Benedictine University in Chicago. His research interests include Latino diversity, career branding, talent management, succession planning, leadership development and diversity. Dr. Robert Rodriguez resides in Chicago, IL.
